There are many ways to get involved with fellow RNs and the Hispanic community.......
Muevete USA is a program designed to teach school aged children and their families how to make healthy choices in snacks and meals, and it emphasizes the importance of regular exercise. Colorado (Denver) NAHN Chapter conducted our first program in 2012. Here are the links to YouTube videos made with each program.
Hispanic Nurses are invited to participate in various health fairs around the city. As a member you would be encouraged to participate by teaching and assessing health within your scope of practice.
Scholarships Scholarships are available for Hispanic nursing students at all degree levels. Those wishing to apply must be active members of the Chapter for a minimum of six months. Contact officers for more information.
Education and Networking with other Hispanic Nurses
Members of the Colorado (Denver) Chapter are diverse in nursing specialties. Find a mentor or learn about another specialty in nursing. Request tutoring from colleagues within the Chapter.
There is also an annual national conference sponsored by NAHN which offers opportunity to learn and grow while networking with nurses from across the nation. This year the conference will be held in Chicago in mid July 2016.
