Legislative Session and the COVID pandemic

With the COVID pandemic, the legislative body was in recess from 3/17/20 to 5/26/20. With so few weeks remaining in the session, lawmakers will not have the time to consider numerous bills proposed at the beginning of the session. Some of these issues are of great importance to Hispanics such as gun control, health coverage for all,  The most difficult issue now is that the state has a budget shortfall of 2 to 3 billion dollars (approximately 25% of the state budget).  The Joint Budget Committee will make recommendations but there will be pain any way we look at this difficult task.
